World of Warcraft Item Upgrades The upgrading of your equipment is an essential part of equipping your character. Upgrades increase the base damage as well as the enchantments of items. You can reorge an item multiple times as often as you like, but it will always have a different effect than the one it was when you first made it. You can also upgrade your Trinkets at the Alchemy Station by placing them into the Magical Catalyst. This will cost you 6 energy, however it will increase the power of the trinket by a tiny amount.
